HUUB jumps in with Norseman sponsorship

Specialist wetsuit and apparel brand HUUB has scooped a major sponsorship deal – with a two year swim sponsorship of the iconic Isklar Norseman Xtreme Triathlon, which takes place in Norway on Saturday 1st August 2015.

Norseman journeys through some of Norway’s most spectacular scenery. The course runs point-to-point – or fjord to peak. It starts at sea level, with a 4m drop off a ferry into the Hardangerfjord. Then, athletes cross the starkly haunting Hardangervidda mountain plateau and finish at the rocky peak of Gaustatoppen, at 1,850m above sea level and 220km away.

Running throughout 2015 and 2016, HUUB is proud to announce its two-year partnership with one of the most extreme and iconic triathlon events in the world.

“We are a small but truly unique race,” said Dag Oliver, General Manager of Norseman Xtreme Triathlon. “We depend on innovative and creative partners to keep our position as the ultimate triathlon experience. Our partners should challenge us to become even safer and better.”

He continued, “HUUB becoming our new swim partner is incredibly exiting for us as they have the values we are looking for. We can’t wait to work with them to prepare our athletes for our epic swim.”

Rasmus Henning from Scandinavian HUUB distributor Gaiasport is equally exited about being part of Norseman. He said, “As a former pro-triathlete myself, and a lover of the sport, I have the utmost respect for this event. It takes the participants to the far corners of their abilities, as they tackle the majestic scenery of the Norwegian fjords.”

Henning continued, “In addition to being behind the scenes at the event, I also hope to be able to take part – this year or next.”

Leading up to the Norseman race start this August, Rasmus Henning and his team will guide athletes through the swim portion of the event with training tips and a pre-event training day. As the official wetsuit for Norseman, the local HUUB team in Scandinavia sees the event as the perfect springboard for expansion across the region.


Last year’s winner Allan Hovda, who is also a HUUB sponsored athlete, said, “Norseman is one of the toughest challenges you can undertake – with freezing cold water, horrible weather and steep mountains; yet its beauty excels everything you can imagine. But don’t be fooled by the breathtaking scenery, the competition takes everything you’ve got.”

Traversing its fjord to peak route, Norseman’s total ascent is 5,000m. The water is cold, clean, and comes lightly salted. The weather can be anything from brilliantly beautiful to blasting blizzard. Participating athletes may see porpoises, orcas or reindeer – or, more likely, baffled locals, who think the athletes are crazy, but will cheer them on anyway!
