Today, two weeks before the start of the World Cup, 400 football fans will unite cycling 145 miles over two days, finishing at Ajax's Amsterdam Arena. Derby County and Geldards Chairman David Williams are getting involved in the action to raise funds for the English Football League’s charity partner, Prostate Cancer UK. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. It is a disease that kills one man every 45 minutes, that is two men during a football match.
Staff members from right across the club are getting involved, with the aim to raise £11,000. The team will begin their journey from Barnsley’s Oakwell Stadium where they will travel to Hull, and then get an overnight ferry before their scenic ride to the finish line at the Ajax stadium.
Alongside creating the fastest wetsuits and swimskins, HUUB has had a team focusing on cycling. This DCFC Ramsterdam kit is a taster of what is to come a few months down the line when the brand launches their first cycling clothing collection. A small amount of this limited edition kit will be released on the HUUB Design online store next week.
Dean Jackson, HUUB owner and founder, commented: “While we would have liked to have gone and signed a Tour de France team we are actually quite excited to support a group of individuals, experienced and not so, with their fundraising efforts cycling to Amsterdam in 48 hours”.
You can donate via the team’s JustGiving page here.
