Superhumans at the Rio Paralympics!

The #Rule40 clause stopped us talking about our athletes during their time in the 2016 Rio Paralympics. We all breathed a sigh of relief yesterday as this clause expired and we are so pleased that we can finally officially shout from the rooftops about how incredibly proud we are!

HUUB paratriathletes that made the historic trip to Rio this summer include Lauren Steadman, Phil Hogg, Joe Townsend and George Peasgood for Team GB, Jetze Plat, Geert Schipper for the Netherlands and Yukako Hata for Japan.

We have been privileged to have been a part of their amazing journey. Over the last few years these Superhuman athletes have put in an immense amount of hard work and training to reach Brazil and make history as the first Paralympic Triathletes.

Lauren Steadman had an incredible race, despite a slight error in the swim and the exhausting heat, she took the first ever Silver medal in the Women’s Paralympic PT4 triathlon. Team GB scooped the third highest medal haul in British Paralympic history and we’re proud that Lauren was a part of this. Meanwhile, Jetze Plat took home the Gold and Geert Schipper took the Silver in the Mens Paralympic PT1 triathlon.
