Ribble Weldtite Tour of Britain update

Ribble Weldtite Tour of Britain update

Team Ribble Weldite Pro cycling have certainly added a splash of colour to this years Tour of Britain!

The new splat kit has made the team incredibly visible during the stages, and at the finish line with some top place results on the tough opening stages around Cornwall and Devon.

Yesterday (7th September) saw the team take on the Team Time Trial in South Wales. There was no shrugging away from the challenge, Dan Bigham, who also works as part of HUUB, had made it clear that the team really wanted to take it to the World Tour boys.

Initially the team crossed the line fastest, but were soon knocked off the top spot by Jumbo Visma, and eventually finished in 8th just one second behind Movistar. It transpired that a mechanical issue for key rider Simon Wilson had likely cost the team; snapping his chain early on made it difficult to match the World Tour teams with 1 man down. Analysis later showed that Team Ribble were holding 3rd place until the final climb when the additional work load eventually proved too much.

While disappointed the team did themselves incredibly proud, and now go onto the end of the race supporting James Shaw with his general classification ambitions, and will start racing more aggressively for stage wins now the TTT is completed.

We wish the team the best of luck for the rest of the tour and will keep you updated on their progress.
