Sam Perkins, who relies on a ventilator to breathe, will be pushed through the 13.1-mile run leg in a specially adapted wheelchair at the National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierrepont.
To help, Sam has assembled a team of friends and family who inspired each other to give triathlon a go. Steph Cobb, who Sam trained with when both were taking up triathlon, will take on the 1.2-mile swim. His step-father, Nick Rawling, who introduced him to the sport over a pint on Christmas Eve in 2009, will tackle the 56-mile bike course.
