The race held in Derby for the second year and organised by HUUB Events was a massive success this weekend!
Over 500 people took part in the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon and the 'Be More Bailey' family triathlon in the glorious sunshine.
In the beautiful surroundings of Markeaton Park in Derby, thousands of people came along to support the athletes as they took on the Swim, Bike & Run challenge.
The event put adults through a 200m Swim, 10k Bike and 2.5k 'eliminator' round with hopes to qualify for the double distance final in the afternoon. Those that didn't get in the top 50 still had a second chance to race the same distance again in the 'wooden spoon' final to improve on their morning race time.
HUUB 1st & 2nd
HUUB athlete Ben Dijkstra, 2x Youth Olympic triathlon champion and GB triathlete, took first place with Derby's David Bishop taking second in the Mens final. Ben was wearing a prototype HUUB Speedracer suit, more details on this will be revealed soon. GB athlete Emma Pallant defended her title for the Womens final taking 1st place on the podium.
#BeMoreBailey
For some youngsters it was their first steps into the world of triathlon as they took part in the family #BeMoreBailey event accompanied by adults. The triathlon inspired by Sports Personality 'Helen Rollason Award' winner Bailey Matthews consisted of a 50m Swim, 2.5k Bike and 750m Run.
It was an emotional event for all parents involved and seeing Bailey cross the finish bought a few tears of joy to spectators. Let's hope this has inspired you to look for your next triathlon.
